Simi Rifka Bornstein

Manya's paternal grandmother, Simi Rifka Bornstein nee Sandrees. Simi was born in Jaffa, Palestine. She married Sam (Yoshea) Hornstein in Jaffa or Safed. Hornstein became Bornstein at Ellis Island by clerical error. Simi took the American first name of Rebecca. She was orphaned at or near birth and was raised by two older sisters.
